Move for His Glory

I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness. Jeremiah 31:14

God put the desire and urge within me to create and move because He is the definition of goodness. To make beauty out of seemingly simple things. He moves me to write, moves me to pray, moves me to give, moves me to cook because of His love within me. Because I was made in His image, He blessed me with specific aspects of his personality that only I would be able to express and that only you would be able to.

They shall come and sing aloud and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord. Jeremiah 31:12

When we delight ourselves in the Lord, we are delighting in the word. It’s a simple satisfaction in the truth that holds so much volume, depth, and breadth. As we draw closer to the word and expect His goodness the desires of our hearts are fulfilled, it becomes natural to walk in His way and will. He puts His desires for my day and my life in me as I draw on the abundant life in my spirit, all the while asking, seeking and knocking (Matthew 7:7).

This doesn’t mean that every desire I have is of Him but he does give me a marker. May the peace of Christ rule in my heart (Colossians 3:15) and in whatever I do He will give me His peace (2 Thessalonians 3:16). Peace is a fruit of the spirit so if there is no peace, confusion or doubt then its time to pause and assess. Does the direction I’m going in line up with the word? Although, it may be difficult, fearful or uncomfortable does it bring God glory?

I can rest in the fact that if I’m off or missed it there is provision for that in the finished work of the cross. There is no room for condemnation or guilt because of what Jesus paid for. As children of God we are learning and growing, we are His sheep and do hear His voice. But how often do children fall or trip? When they do they have their parents there to pick them up and redirect. How much more does my Heavenly Father want this as I take steps of faith in response to His goodness or word?

What is God moving you to do today, this month or in this season? Has fear held you back from stepping into what you sense He may be guiding you into? Be still and wait on Him. Quiet your mind and heart to hear what He is longing to reveal to you (Jeremiah 33:3). He created you to move for His glory.
